Below are the five steps:

  1. Stance:  Shins 1 inch from the bar; stance narrower than your squat stance
  2. Grip:  Grab bar outside the shins
  3. Shins:  Bend knees until shins touch the bar; knees out to your elbows
  4. Chest Up:  Squeeze your back into extension
  5. Pull:  Drag the bar up your legs and drive the floor away
