Completing Your Test Workout (Strength Coaching Memberships)

If you signed up for any of our online strength coaching memberships (Professional, Exclusive, or Club coaching), then you will be assigned a test workout in the BLOC App.

What is a test workout: The test workout sets a baseline for your form and programming. Each movement has an accompanying “How-To” video. Just do your best. For the barbell lifts, you should work up to a weight that feels moderately challenging. For other exercises, try to complete the workout as written. We expect that you will not be perfect. That’s okay. Your coach will use this workout and your videos to make a plan for your progress.

Filming your lifts: The video below shows how to create the best videos for your coach. For non-barbell movements, the same tips apply: Film from a three-quarter angle where possible and try to get your whole body in the video.

If you have any questions about filming, your coach can help you make adjustments.

Complete Your Visual Food Diary (Nutrition Coaching Memberships)

Visual Food Diary: Your Nutrition Coach will add slots in your calendar in the BLOC App to upload pictures of your food over 3-5 days that will include week and weekend days. It is very important that you don’t change anything: eat and drink as you normally would. The goal is to give your coach an honest base to start from. After you complete your Visual Food Diary, you will have a call with your Nutrition Coach to discuss a plan, which you will receive in an email 24-48 hours after the call.

If you have any questions about completing your Visual Food Diary, just ask your Nutrition Coach.

What to Expect

Your Scheduled Workouts:

Workouts are visible in the Calendar or List view of the BLOC App as soon as your coach creates them. Coaches will typically finalize your programming for the week by Sunday night and will make adjustments as needed during the week. Each day that you have a scheduled workout, you will receive an email with that day’s workout at the beginning of the day. You can toggle this and other workout notifications in your BLOC App profile.

24-Hour Feedback:

During the week, your coach will respond to a posted workout and videos within 24 hours. It’s important to mark your workouts “complete” and post your videos right away to keep the feedback fresh and relevant to your next training session.

Weekend Policy:

Workouts posted between Friday at 12:00 am and Sunday at 9:00 am (in your coach’s timezone) have a 48-hour response window.

Holiday Policy:

Coaches are not required to provide feedback for workouts done on certain major holidays: New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day (December 31st – January 1st), Thanksgiving Holiday (Thursday through Sunday, 4th Thursday in November), Christmas Holiday (December 24th -26th), and the Barbell Logic Online Coaching Conference (usually in August).

Workouts posted on the following holidays will be reviewed in 48-hours. Some holidays vary by your coach’s location:

  • MLK Jr. Day (3rd Monday of January)
  • Memorial Day (Last Monday of May)
  •  Independence Day (July 4th)
  • Labor Day (1st Monday in September)
  • Australia Day (January 26th Australia only)
  • Good Friday (Friday before Easter Australia, UK & Scotland only)
  • Anzac Day (April 25th or nearest weekday, Australia only)
  • Early May Bank Holiday (1st Monday of May) or Spring Bank Holiday (Last Monday of May) (UK & Scotland only)
  • Summer Bank Holiday (~ August 2nd in Scotland only)
  • Mexican Independence Day (September 16th)
  • St. Andrew’s Day (November 30th, Scotland only)
  • Boxing Day (next working day after Christmas)
