  • Complete your application. Our Client Experience Team will review this, and within 24-48 hours respond with your group selection confirmation or other recommendation.
  • Accept your email invitation to TurnKey Coach and create your profile.
  • Connect with your coach, team, and fellow lifters in the Barbell Logic Community through TurnKey Coach Chats.

Using TurnKey Coach

Shortly after signing up for Online Coaching you will be receiving an invitation to join TurnKey Coach. This is where you will upload workouts and communicate with your coach. Once you’ve received that email and followed the instructions to set up your profile on TurnKey Coach, watch this video to get familiar with it.

As a Semi-Private Coaching client, you’ll have special permissions to modify your workouts as advised by your coach. Watch this video to get familiar with those features.

We recently renamed our application from BLOC App to TurnKey Coach. We are in the process of updating our onramp videos to reflect this change. Anywhere you see BLOC App referenced, it is referring to the application you were invited to when you signed up for coaching and serves as the primary source of communication with your coach.

Completing Your First Workout (Strength Coaching Memberships)

When you begin Semi-Private Coaching, you’ll either be starting on Day 1 with the rest of your team, or your coach will ramp you up to join the rest of the team with a tailored plan. Your coach will explain this in their first email to you. The goal is for your whole team to be completing the same workouts together (+/- a couple days).

Filming your lifts: The video below shows how to create the best videos for your coach. For non-barbell movements, the same tips apply: Film from a three-quarter angle where possible and try to get your whole body in the video.

If you have any questions about filming, your coach can help you make adjustments.

Complete Your Visual Food Diary (Nutrition Coaching Memberships)

Visual Food Diary: Your Nutrition Coach will add slots in your calendar in TurnKey Coach to upload pictures of your food over 3-5 days that will include week and weekend days. It is very important that you don’t change anything: eat and drink as you normally would. The goal is to give your coach an honest base to start from. After you complete your Visual Food Diary, you will have a call with your Nutrition Coach to discuss a plan, which you will receive in an email 24-48 hours after the call.

If you have any questions about completing your Visual Food Diary, just ask your Nutrition Coach.

What to Expect

Your Scheduled Workouts:

Workouts are visible in the Calendar or List view of TurnKey Coach as soon as your coach creates them. Coaches will write your programming ahead of time, typically week by week. Each day that you have a scheduled workout, you will receive an email with that day’s workout at the beginning of the day. You can toggle this and other workout notifications in your TurnKey Coach profile.

24-Hour Feedback on Each Workout:

During the week, your coach will respond to one posted workout per week within 24 hours. It’s important to mark your workouts “complete” and post your videos right away to keep the feedback fresh and relevant to your next training session. Your coach will give you guidance on which workout to “submit” for review.

Weekend Policy:

Workouts posted between Friday at 12:00 am and Sunday at 9:00 am (in your coach’s timezone) have a 48-hour response window.

Holiday Policy:

Every single one of your workouts is important to us, and we love getting to coach you all year round. A few times during the year, we’ll recognize national holidays by changing the feedback schedule so that your coach gets some extra time. On select holidays, the entire company will take time off completely.

BLOC HQ recognizes the following major holidays and our annual conference by giving our coaches complete time off. During these times, coaches are not required to give feedback for workouts posted.

As these dates approach, you will receive a reminder message to make sure you are squared away with your coach. 

  • New Year’s Day (January 1st)
  • Thanksgiving (November 28th – December 1st)
  • Christmas – Boxing Day (December 24-26th)
  • New Year’s Eve (December 31st)

For the following Holidays, your coach will have an extended amount of time, up to 48 hours, to review your workouts. All workouts will be reviewed. These apply if your coach lives in the country where the holiday is recognized.

US

  • MLK Jr. Day (3rd Monday of January)
  • Memorial Day (Last Monday of May)
  • Independence Day (July 4th)
  • Labor Day (1st Monday in September)

Australia

  • Australia Day (January 26th)
  • Good Friday (Friday before Easter)
  • Anzac Day (April 25th or nearest weekday)

UK

  • Good Friday (Friday before Easter)
  • Early May Bank Holiday (1st Monday of May) 
  • Spring Bank Holiday (Last Monday of May)
  • August Bank Holiday (Last Monday of August)

Mexico

  • Independence Day (September 16th)
  • Revolution Day (3rd Monday of November)

Scotland

  • Good Friday (Friday before Easter)
  • Early May Bank Holiday (1st Monday of May) 
  • Summer Bank Holiday (August 5th)
  • St. Andrew’s Day (November 30th)
