Each week, we shine the spotlight on one of our online coaching clients. The simple idea of making ourselves stronger through training brings together people of all different backgrounds and for all different purposes. In sharing our clients’ experiences we hope to share part of what makes our online community of lifters unique.
Darin is a really hard working client who is coached by our Senior Interns. He lives in Evansville, IN and lifts in his home gym. He has a pretty cool hobby/side gig, read on to find out what that is.

Currently Rich Yule (club)

Bend over earlier. Pull the slack out.
What is your favorite lift?
How long have you been training?
Started back up about 3 years ago
Why did you start lifting?
To become stronger, healthier, and harder to kill

Did you ever think at any point in your life that someday you’d be as strong as you are now?

Something fancy pantsy
What are some of your lifting-related goals for this year?
My 1st set of goals is to hit a 300# squat and a 400# for 5 reps. I would like a 200# press but that is a long way off.
Do you plan on competing in a meet this year? If so, what are your goals?
What have you learned about yourself from barbell training?
Anything is possible with hard work and determination
Dead or alive, who would you love to lift with?
Any SSC or SSOC. I don’t really have anyone in my area

Not really. I eat because I must.
(Gosh, what is that like??)

Anything with meat in it.

No tv shows, but my favorite movie of all time is Blood Sport.
(Again, heck yea!)
What are a couple of your favorite books?
Children of Odin and the Zen of Archery
Anything else you would like to share with your SSOC brethren and sistren?
I coach archery at the local grade school. It is the single greatest thing I have ever done outside of my family. It is so much fun to coach the kids. I would highly recommend everyone getting involved in their community and help coach someone.
